This does incentivise you to party up with players, to get higher drop rates in a party. Which I feel like is a good drive for social gameplay.
Sounds like the ore drop rates through the stages aren't consistent enough.

I completely agree with this feedback. The ore distribution when playing solo seems unbalanced. It's quite frustrating to receive a small amount of ore early on and then none until much later stages. A more consistent ore drop rate would greatly improve the solo playing experience.
